Bernard “Bernie” Frederick Yost peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, in Belmont, MI. Bernie was born on Saturday, June 7, 1952 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Patriotic and proud to be an American, Bernie loved his country. An avid outdoorsman, Bernie loved West Michigan and also loved to travel. He loved to hunt and fish, and especially enjoyed camping. He spent time as a volunteer firefighter in Alpine Township and he made time throughout his life to support Veterans. He was a generous and strong man that gave back in that way. His life work was proudly driving a truck for Central Michigan Paper for over 35 years.
Throughout his life Bernie enjoyed working on Uncle Freddie’s farm and spending time with and helping out his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Frances (Schweitzer) Yost; sister, Ann Marie Maluchnik; brother-in-law, Dave Moore.
Bernie is survived by his siblings, Donna (Gale) Scholten, Marilyn (James) Rewa, Rick (Elaine) Yost, Larry (Pam) Yost, Mary Lou (Fred) Weise, Theresa (Jeff) Hertel, Nancy (Chris) Jesko, aunts and uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that Bernie deeply cherished.
Bernie’s family invites you to a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM with a Memorial Service starting at 7:30PM at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, MI 49321.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a Memorial Donation in Bernie’s honor to either Hospice of Michigan, 989 Spaulding Ave SE, Ada, MI 49301 or the American Legion Post #47, 3811 W River Dr NE, Comstock Park, MI 49321.
