Obituary

VANOEFFELEN – Charles “Chuck” VanOeffelen, age 71, of Alpine Twp., unexpectedly passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes VanOeffelen; and sister, JoAnne Beak. He is survived by his children, Charles Jr., Jamie, William (Shannan); grandchildren, Tori (Josh) Mucinski, Ally, Ryleigh, Aydan, Brooklynn, Preston, and Jersey; sisters, Jean Skinner, Kathy Gagnon, and Mary Kay VanOeffelen; brothers, Joseph (MaryAnn) VanOeffelen Jr., John “Jack” (Jill) VanOeffelen, David (Jeanette) VanOeffelen, and James (Kathy) VanOeffelen; and lifelong partner and friend, Iva Brinker. Chuck worked as a millwright in construction and was an active member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1102. In his free time, Chuck enjoyed gardening and farming. He loved hunting and many trips to his property up north. He was a frugal and penny-wise man who also knew how to celebrate Christmas, and especially appreciated a good Christmas feast. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Beuschel Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Simons presiding. In memory of Chuck, please consider making memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice.
