Madelyn Klenk, age 106, of Alpine Township, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021 peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving children. She was a 1933 graduate of Comstock Park High School, where she lettered in basketball three times on offense.
Madelyn worked at Kenowa Hills Public School for 34 plus years, starting in 1952, in addition to being a farmer’s wife and all the duties that came with it. She was the oldest lifetime member at Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was baptized as an infant. Madelyn enjoyed playing cards and traveling through all fifty states and Europe.
Madelyn was proceeded in death by her husband, Harold M. Klenk, whom died in March of 1976; by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jeanne Klenk; a grandson, Dickie Kline; and her parents, Fredrick and Emma (Brechting) Schindler; and five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her children, Shirley and Robert McCracken of Alpine Township, Robert and Marjorie Klenk of Palm Coast, Florida, Mary Jane and Ronald Kline of Marne, Richard and Marsha Klenk of Alpine Township, eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friends De, Lisa and Tracy.
Friends and family may be received at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Jerry Roersma. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Road NW, Comstock Park, on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Simons presiding. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
