Obituary for Michael W. Johnson
Michael W. Johnson, age 59 of Marne, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Kathryn (Zimmer) Johnson; his mother, Theresa (Madura) Johnson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul Sr. and Jacqueline Zimmer; and his brother-in-law, Michael Zimmer.
Mike is survived by his children, Leanne (Adam) Hawley and Daniel (Ashley) Johnson; granddaughters, Brianne and Marlee Hawley; his father, Robert Johnson; his sister Rose (Steve) Walkotten; his nephew, Nicholas Walkotten and his niece, Melissa (Tony)Hohman; his in-laws, Paul (Linda) Zimmer Jr., Barbara (Claude) McManus, Margaret (Brian) Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was born on July 28, 1963 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated Grandville High School in 1981 and was a Standale resident for many years. Mike loved vacationing with his wife and going hunting and fishing. Being “Paw” to his granddaughters was one of the greatest sources of joy in his life. Mike loved to read, especially books about Upland Bird Dogs.
Private interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery.
