PENNY - Alex Joseph Penny, age 32, of Comstock Park, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Marianne Penny and Larry VanderZand. Alex is survived by his mother, Donna Penny; father, Matthew Penny; brother, Ryan Penny; girlfriend, Rita Crabb; grandparent, Nancy VanderZand; aunts, Deb (Greg) Longstreet, Diane "Dee" (Brian) Smith, Barb (Ken) Johnson; Debbie (Pete) VanDyke, Cindy Penny, Kathy Knuppenburg; uncles, Tim Penny, Chris Penny; and many cousins. Alex attended West Catholic High School, graduating with the class of 2006. After high school, he attended Ferris State University and Grand Valley State University. From there, he went on to Cooley Law School, graduating in January 2016. Alex loved his family and friends and had a huge heart for everyone he met. He had a love and kindness for everyone around him. Alex will be greatly missed by his family and by those who knew him. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of Alex's life at 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home, officiating Rev.
