WATKINS - Arnold "Arnie" L. Watkins, age 76, of Sparta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 after an 18 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Charlene; his children, Michael (Julie) Watkins and Stacey (Brad) Mullen; grandchildren, Nicholas Mullen, Kathryn Mullen, Jon Watkins and Matt Watkins; brothers and sisters, Norman (Mabel) Watkins, Sharon (Ron) Finley, Ralph (Debi) Watkins and Dale (Julie) Watkins; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Randy Fisk; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ida Watkins. Arnie was employed with Honeywell for 32 years as a construction manager; continued working and retired after seven years from Spencer Redner Electric. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. The family will receive visitors at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 South State Street, Sparta with Rev. Msgr. Terrence L. Stewart as celebrant, and under the auspices of Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
