Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Green on July 29, 2026. Art was born to Paul and Helen Green on September 20, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He went to school and graduated from Comstock Park high school with the class of 1972. Afterwards, he entered trade school to become an electrician as well as earned his associate degree. He went on to become a master electrician and worked over 30 years at Allied Electric. He married his beloved wife, Renee, on August 6, 1988. They enjoyed nearly 38 years of marriage together.

Although Art was a quiet man, to those closest to him, he was known as the funniest man they knew. He was always quick to help those in need with his knowledge of building and fixing. When he didn’t have the answer, he would go to what he called “The University”. Or as we call it, YouTube.

In the summer, he would spend his time at his cottage on the lake. Art enjoyed fishing with friends and family and taking them for rides on the pontoon boat. Summer was also his favorite time of year because it meant it was time to bring out the Corvette. He took any opportunity possible to make his grandson blush by picking him up in it. He loved the reaction girls had when his grandson climbed into the Corvette.

In the winter time, Art was quick to escape to the family cabin for hunting season where he spent time with his friends and family. When not at the cabin, he and his wife traveled to Florida and Arizona to get some vitamin D and make memories with friends.

In between all these things you could find Art standing like a flamingo, rubbing his head as he baked scones, biscuits or his infamous cookies which he loved to have for breakfast with his coffee.

We would love to share stories with you about this great man so we invite you to a time of visitation with the family on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Frontline Community Church 4411 Plainfield Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, with a service at 11:00 AM and a luncheon to follow. Please come help us celebrate his life and share memories.
