VANMALSEN - Barbara J. VanMalsen, age 67, of Sparta, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Barb is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James VanMalsen, her beloved family, Edward (Karen), William, Robert (Jolene) VanMalsen; grandchildren, Genevieve, Steven Rykert, Meagan, Kathryn, Robert, Edward, and Eileen; siblings, Linda (Cliff) Martin, Jan (Lee) Bullock, Edward Sharpe, Shirley Anderson and Ronald (Sandy) Sharpe; mother-in-law, Marge VanMalsen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Barb was employed for many years at Ridgeview Elementary School in the Sparta School District. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service following at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m., with Pastor Tom Bradley, from Westwood Community Church.
