OSSEWAARDE, BARBARA "BARB" JEAN age 76, of Walker, went peacefully to her Lord and Savior, with her family at her side after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Gardner. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim; daughters, Julie (Lindsay) Combs, Jody Davis and friend Robert Niswonger, Jackie (Richard) Rienstra; one grandson, Jason (Amy) DeBoer; five granddaughters, Hannah Combs, Emily and Taylor Davis, Jessica and Jennifer Rienstra; four great-grandsons, Pierson, Braden, Ian, Anthony DeBoer, three brothers, J. Douglas (Sandy) Gardner, Ronald (LuAnn) Gardner, Robert (Geralynn) Gardner; several nieces, nephews and best friends, Pam Bruining and Sally Hale. Barb enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, volunteering, fishing and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM., at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue N.W., Comstock Park. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at the funeral home.
