TONER - Barbara Toner (Dekkinga), age 87, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Grand Rapids, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 29, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Toner; brothers, Raymond Krygier, Gene Krygier; and sister, Lorraine Borowka. Barbara is survived by her children, Sharon (Steven) Devito, David (Teresa) Dekkinga, Mary Jo (John) Botner, and Edward (Jody) Dekkinga; grandchildren, Shawna (Joseph) Russo, Stephanie (Brian) Nawrocki, Megan (Josh) Robach, Chloe Dekkinga, Haley Dekkinga, and Abigail Dekkinga; great-grandchildren, Sofia, Sebastian, and Sydney Russo, Skylar, Savannah, Brody, Bentley, and Cash Nawrocki, Hailey, Maximus and Madelyn Robach; sister-in-law, Ruth Krygier; special nephew, Robert (Sue) Krygier; best friend, Beverly Merger; 'granddogs', Charlotte and Matty. Barbara was an Avon representative and Tupperware sales representative who also ran her own successful cleaning business. She worked at the Princess Bakery as a manager, and the Alpine Meijer Garden Center for 13 years. Barbara was a kitchen aid for Covenant Village of the Great Lakes. Barbara was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Ladies Guild. She volunteered as bazaar event coordinator and coordinator of funeral luncheons. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was her grandchildren's biggest fan. She greatly enjoyed following her family's sports activities and making memories with her family. A Private Visitation will be held at the Beuschel Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2020. The graveside service will be on Friday, April 3, 2020 with Rev. Fr. Tom Page from St. Jude Catholic Church. Interment will be in Fairplains Cemetery.
