TAGGART - Berta J. Taggart, age 90, of Grand Rapids, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Taggart; son William James Taggart; daughter-in-law Kimela Taggart; sons-in-law, Jack Hoyle, Brian Hubert; and grandson, Bill Taggart. Berta is survived by her children, Gary (Barb) Taggart, James Taggart, Cheryl Hubert, Cathi Hoyle; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Jacquelyn Braxmaier Snell; and sister-in-law, Lois (Mike) DeGraaf. Berta will be remembered as a friendly person and fiercely independent. She was an avid walker, liked bowling, playing golf, and greatly enjoyed watching Tigers baseball. Berta's greatest love was being a grandma and great-grandma. She was also a member of the United Auto Workers and St. Mary Catholic Church in Marne. The family would like to send a sincere "thank you" to the staff at Valley View Care Center for all their care and compassion while Berta was in their care. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of Berta's life at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. In memory of Berta, please consider contributions to ALS of West Michigan.
