BAILEY - Blaine Frederick Bailey Sr., age 87, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Blaine is survived by his loving wife, Waneta of 55 years, beloved children, Thomas (Sue), Theresa, Monica Paauwe, Blaine Jr. (Rebecca), Janice (Thomas) Shanahan, Joseph (Barbara), Julia (James) Arends, Timothy (Terri), Patricia, Shawn (Kathleen), step son, Thomas Pattison, step daughter, Linda Pattison, 29 precious grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, brother, Robert (JoAnne), sister, Marie Massey, many nieces, nephews, special friends, Don Druart, Bob Bianchi, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lane, Bob and Noreen Coe, Rose and the late Joe Wos, Hank and Erna Pelak, his friends at the American Legion Post 258 and the VFW in Howard City. He was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve, father, Marwood, brothers, Charles and Donald, and sister, Beverly. Blaine proudly served in the Navy during WWII and in the Army. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post 258, and in the Kent County Sheriff's Department (Reserves). Blaine was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Howard City. His hobbies included gardening, wood working and art work. The family will receive visitors at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m., with Father Bill Zink. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at St. Alphonsus Church with Father Bernard L. Carlin CSsR officiating.
