WHALEN - Bruce A. Whalen, age 66, of Comstock Park, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Bruce was born on May 21, 1948. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Harold Whalen and John VanHooren. Bruce is survived by the love of his life, his adoring wife of 36 years, Teresa (Schmidt) Whalen; mother, Virginia (Fred) McEvoy; children, Rebecca (Matthew) Kirkwood, Brad Whalen and Brent (Jessica) Whalen; siblings, Paul, Eddie, Leo, Barbara, Kathy, Patty, Liz and Doris; cousins, Bob Knipp, Scott and Sheila McCall; mother and father in-law, Rosemary and Ernest Schmidt; sisters and brother in-law, Mary (Howard) Estill, Susan (Dan) Deters, Mike (Jan) Schmidt; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Mike Schmidt, Paul Whalen, Bob Knipp, Scott and Sheila McCall. Bruce proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded many commendations. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, with a Memorial Service following visitation at 11:00 a.m., with Rev.
