Obituary

HEIDENGA - Carol Sue Heidenga, age 69, of Comstock Park, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 after a very short battle with multiple myeloma complicated by pneumonia. Surviving are her husband, of almost 50 years, James Heidenga; daughter, Ann (Bill); sons, Jeff (Denise), Rick (Alma), and Tom; four adoring grandchildren, Megan, Ben and Ian Briggs, Kate Heidenga; sisters, Charmaine Ignasiak, and Betty (Dave) Socha; numerous brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mildred Chicky; sisters, Marilyn Huber and Gloria Schanz; brother, Charles Chicky. Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many people. She had a gifted way of making other people feel so special and many considered her a "second mom." Carol's family and her faith were top priorities in her life, as she put everyone's needs ahead of her own. She was quick to smile and laugh, offering comfort and support to anyone who needed it. Her compassion will never be matched. Visitation for Carol will be held at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Avenue from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 21, and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 with a rosary at 8:00 p.m., with Deacon Jerry Roersma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Comstock Park with Rev. Thomas G. Simons, as celebrant, with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Please consider an expression of sympathy in memory of Carol to Haiti or a charity of your choice.
