PARKER - Carolyn M. Parker, age 87, Comstock Park, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1929. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Evelyn (Schestag) Scherpenisse; step mother, Hazel Scherpenisse and son, Kim Parker. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 65 years, Russell Parker; children, Cheryl and Steven Hews, Ross and Bonnie Parker, Steve and Lois Parker, Brenda Parker and Kevin and Anna Parker; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, plus one arriving in May; one great great grandchild; sister, Ardythe Grundy; step-sister, Peggy Buelow; brother-in-law, Duane and Barbara Parker; several nieces, nephews and special cousins. Carolyn was co-founder of Parker Excavating, Gravel and Recycling, Inc. She loved spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Maston Lake (everyone was welcomed). Carolyn always had an encouraging word for the grandchildren and attended many of their events. The family will receive family and friends for visitation at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016. A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. In memory of Carolyn, a donation of one's choice may be accepted.
