JOHNSON - Curtis W. Johnson, age 82, of Alpine Township, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary of 53 years, in the fall of 2011, also mother, Pearl Johnson and brother, Roger Johnson. Curtis is survived by his beloved children, Annette (Jeff) Burtt, Matt (Julie) Johnson, loving grandchildren, Lexie and Jacob Burtt, Ashley and Evan Johnson, sister, Maxine (Robert) Nelson, also many nieces and nephew. He always enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, and driving his John Deere tractor around his estate. Curtis retired from Kendall College in 1992 as a Professor, and was an acting President for one of those years. He was founder of the Illustration Department, that still exists today. Curtis enjoyed his time creating abstract art on the computer. He also enjoyed an occasional libation. The family will receive visitors at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 8:00 p.m., with Deacon Jerry Roersma. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Holy Trinity Church, with celebrant Rev. Father Thomas G. Simons officiating and under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Those who wish to make a donation please consider contributions to the Kendall Scholarship Fund.
