PIKAART - Daniel Thomas Pikaart, age 76, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family singing his favorite hymn, Under His Wings, on Saturday, October 19, 2019, his mother's birthday. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judith; parents, Claude Pikaart and Martha Durham. He is survived by his children; Sandra (Gregory) Larson, Rachel (Curtis) Benjamin, Steven (Emilie) Pikaart, Katherine Pikaart, Jeffrey (Annette) Pikaart; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister Sharon Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Dan was self-employed as a real estate broker for over 42 years. He attended Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. Dan will be remembered as a faithful Christian who had a big heart for others and for his Lord and Savior He was a long-time member of Wealthy Park Baptist Church and an active volunteer at Fort Faith Baptist Bible Camp, serving as camp director for several years, as well as on the board of directors. Dan was a fun-loving spontaneous friend to many, and a champion of the vulnerable. He enjoyed traveling with his family, hunting and fishing, and treasured time spent with his grandchildren. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue N.W., Comstock Park, on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Celebration of Dan's life will be on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Fort Faith Baptist Bible Camp 5005 210th Ave. Morley, MI., with Rev. Wayne Walters officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the camp. Interment will be at Plainfield Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28.
