HORON - Daniel J. Horon, Sr., age 80, of Sparta, went to be with Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 4, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet; children, Daniel J. Horon (Corrine Kenner); John Horon; Christine Goertz, (Randy DeGeest); Joanne (Bob) Lash; Jeff (Jennifer) Horon; grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Ian, Coyla, Julia, Emily, Kate, Nicholas, Joshua, Nathan; great-grandchild, Mason; siblings Judy (John) Wolcott, Kathy Horon (Charmayne Danton); sister-in-law, Janet Wuchner; and many nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Valerie (Earl) Boelcke; Barbara (Dean) Kimmerly; Thomas Horon; and John Horon. Dan served his country in United States Navy, stationed in Newfoundland. He retired from Pak-Sak as an electrician in 2004. He was a member of the Howard City Conservation Club and Toastmasters, Rockford Chapter, where he also served on the Board. He was the proud author of Tales From The Twisted Path of Life. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A service will be offered at 6:00 pm with retired Pastor John Lovell officiating and under the auspice of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
