SWACKHAMMER - David "Dave" Paul Swackhammer, age 66, of Grand Rapids, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Evelyn Swackhammer; and brother, Daniel Swackhammer. Dave is survived by his long-time wife, Donna Tortellet; children, Jamie (Matt) Landry and Joseph Swackhammer; grandchildren, Christopher and Amber Landry; and best friend, Bob Bergman. Dave was incredibly proud to have served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army as an M.P. in Panama. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 47. An avid hunter and fisherman, even though he rarely caught anything, Dave holds the record among his family and friends for the smallest fish caught. A private celebration of life ceremony will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. on October 11, 2021 with Military Honors.
