David Wesley Zufelt, 59, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. David is survived by his wife, Michelle; children, Wesley (Emily Sear) Zufelt, Amanda (Fred Sr.) Averill, Alishea (Eric Allen) Oke, and Amy (Jeremy) Shurtz; grandchildren, Emma Zufelt, Fred Jr., Aalea and Jaden Averill, Lex and Logan Shurtz; great-granddaughter, Nova Averill; sisters, Robin (Mike) Burns and Molly (Jack) Bolton; brothers-in-law, Dean Hepinstall and Robert "Robbie" Guarisco; nieces, Becky (Jason) Bronkema and Christiana Bolton; and nephews, Ryan (Crystal) Burns and Donald Bolton. David was born on December 7, 1963, in Grand Rapids. He was adopted by Don and Phyllis Zufelt on February 14, 1964 and raised in Casnovia. David is a graduate of the Kent City High School Class of 1982. He was active in sports and ran 4 years in track. David was on the Kent City basketball teams that won the conference championships all 4 years. David gained the honor of being the most improved runner in cross country and his team finished 23rd in the state finals. David had 3 letters in band and was the drum major his junior year. David found love late in life with his wife, Michelle. David and Michelle married in December 2016 after having known each other since grade school. David had a successful career in sales, working up from a store manager to vice president of sales. He owned and managed his own sales agency. David will be lovingly remembered and missed by his dear family and friends. Service Details.
