Dennis James Millis, age 71, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Lorraine Millis; brother, Jay Millis. Dennis is survived by his siblings, Jim and Evelyn Millis, Linda Millis Cardosa, Tom Millis, Sandee Crinion, Sally Jo Millis (Karen Spoelman); special niece, Darcy Millis; many nieces and nephews. Dennis was a loving and supportive "Care Bear", uncle, brother, and father figure to Carrie (Mark) Holderbaum, and Christina McCarty, who he loved dearly. He started Great Lakes Installation, a company that traveled throughout the world installing commercial seating in theaters and auditoriums. His company set up seating for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Spain. Dennis was a long time respected member of AA fellowship AKA "Old Timer." He sponsored and assisted several AA members. He was involved in service work including prison corrections outreach and opened chaired meeting at Zion Methodist for many years. He had that special honest wit that made you laugh and put things into perspective. His faith in Jesus never waived and what brought comfort in his life and final hours. Dennis will be missed by his family and the many people touched by him in AA and the community. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 11:00 am at SS Peter & Paul Church, 520 Myrtle St NW, Grand Rapids, MI. The family will greet relatives and friends starting at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the church, one hour before the memorial service.
