HOMRICH- Dolores B. (Thome) Homrich, age 90, of Alpine Township/Sparta, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 24, 2019. Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Homrich; her parents, Richard and Bernadine Thome; brothers, Walter, Erwin (Georgianna), Don and Robert; sister-in-law, Sally Thome. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Ron) Johnsen; sons, Bill (Laura), David (Loretta), Michael (Karolyn) and James (Barb) Homrich; brothers, Dick and Joe (Mary Ann); sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Thome and Betty Thome; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Dolores graduated from Catholic Central and Davenport Business College. Dolores and Walt grew fruits and vegetables and opened the Under the Pines Farm Market on Alpine Avenue in the early 1960's. Many remember Dolores for her hard-working ethic. She loved growing flowers, especially gladiolas and mums. Knitting and sewing American Girl Doll clothes delighted countless young girls. Designing and assembling custom quilts was another favorite pastime of Dolores. Walt and Dolores loved playing cribbage and setback with family and friends. In her retirement years, Dolores and Walt spent time enjoying grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling extensively with friends, always taking the back roads. Their Catholic Faith was the guiding force and foundation of their lives. Family and friends will be greeted at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue NW, Comstock Park on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:30 PM., with a Rosary Service at 8:00 PM., followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and honor Dolores's life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Road, Comstock Park, with Fr.
