SCHWALLIER - Dorothy Jean Schwallier, of Grand Rapids, age 88, went into the arms of Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Dorothy is survived by her children, Michael (Ginger), George (Susie), Larry, Ken (Joan), Bernadette, Paul (Pam), Janine (Jerry) Uzas, Marlene (Jerry) Rubright, Doreen (Brad) Harris, Andy (Andrea); 31 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by George Schwallier; her son, John (Gertrude) Schwallier; siblings, Anne Wessels, Mary Gast, Joseph Wasses and Rose Haisma. She is a member of the church of Jesus Christ Later Day Saints. Dorothy was born in Wright Township to Joseph and Anna Wasses. She was a proud mother of eleven children, raising them in the rural town of Coopersville and Grand Rapids. Dorothy was a caregiver in her later years of life. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday. The celebration of Dorothy's life will be Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., officiating with Bishop Richmond, of the Grand Valley Ward, at the Beuschel Funeral Home.
