Duane Lee Cook, age 83, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He was born March 28, 1943, in Big Rapids, MI, the eldest of 7 children, to the late Russel and Frances (Alger) Cook. Duane graduated from Stanwood High School with the class of 1961. During his professional career he worked many years in high end retail for various companies in Kentucky, California, and Michigan. Through his work adventures he met many famous individuals including Carol Channing and Diana Ross. He also served as the wedding coordinator for a large church in Louisville, Kentucky, for many years.

Survivors include his sister, Carol Morris; brother, Alec Sova; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings, including his closest brother, Willis Cook in 2022.

Per Duane's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a mission that touched Duane's heart.
