Elaine Marie (Stockhill) Thayer age 79 of Casnovia, MI went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Lucille (Condon) Stockhill; sisters, Nancy Stockhill and Jane Carlson; brothers-in-law, Mike Carlson and Keith Thayer; sister-in-law, Sandra Thayer; and nephew, Todd Carlson. She is survived by her husband, Russ Thayer; son, Jim Thayer; daughter, Nancy (Mark) Thompson; brother, Donald (Janice) Stockhill; grandchildren, Cody (Morgan) Thayer, Katie (Daniel) Greene, Zack (Taylor) Thayer, Alexandra (Michael) Hancock, Austin (Margaret) Thompson, and Randy (Blaire) Thompson, as well as thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Elaine was born and raised on her family's farm in Casnovia, graduated from Kent City/Casnovia Schools, married Russ Thayer in 1963 and raised their family all in the same neighborhood. She was a teachers' aide at Kent City Elementary School for several years before working for some time at the Michigan Bulb Company. Elaine most treasured being with family, especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and grand and great nieces and nephews. She loved camping with them at Brower Park and anywhere she could camp as well as being outdoors, baking, and going to casinos. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 9, 12:00 noon at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI. Friends and relatives may meet the family at the funeral home on Saturday before the funeral from 10:00 - 12:00 pm for a visitation.
