HOMRICH, Ernest Homrich, 94, of Comstock Park, entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2020. He is preceded in death by his wife, Regina (Jean) Homrich; grandson, Matthew Austin; parents, Anna and Sebastian Homrich; siblings, Clara (John) Budinger, Paul (Christina) Homrich, Fred (Katherine) Homrich, Frances (Robert) Burns, Robert (Dorothy) Homrich and Walter (Dolores) Homrich; and in-laws, Sally (Anthony) Sawicki, John (Catherine) Sawicki, Theresa (Don) Wahlfield and Juanita Sawicki. Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Mary Austin and Sue Kreiser; son-in-law, Larry Austin; grandchildren, Joseph, Benjamin and Stacie Kreiser, Stephanie (Austin) Redding, Daniel Redding and Robert Austin; special friend, Louise Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. Ernest proudly served his country in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He owned an agricultural limestone business and was an active part of the Alpine Township farming community. Ernest was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Church and served as cemetery caretaker. He worked at Michigan Bumper, Hayes, and Wilber Vault Company, and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Moose. A special thank you to Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 8:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Rd, Comstock Park on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Simons as celebrant and under the auspice of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass.
