HUSTED - Esther Virginia Husted (DeWys), age 80, of Walker, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Esther was diagnosed with stage four Pancreatic Cancer on August 7, 2014 with wonderful care from Faith Hospice, her granddaughter, Nicole Husted (RN at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing) and family members, she was able to be cared for at home. Esther truly loved her Lord. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leonard and Irene DeWys; sister, Ruth Ann (DeWys) Dykstra; brother in-law, Robert H. Bishop and nephew, Mark E. DeWys. Esther will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Sylvester Earl Husted; her loving children, Zandy (Husted) Ford (Stephen Ford), David and Sandy Husted; precious grandchildren, Jeremy and Sarah Ford, Ben and Desiree Ford, Nicole Husted (Amos Rose), Randy and Jill Husted; darling great grandchildren, Savanna, Joshua and Isaiah Ford, Jaden and Jackson Husted and Cecelia Rose; siblings, Eugene and Mary DeWys, Dort Bishop, Pauline DeWys; brother in-law, Richard Dykstra; aunt Martha Mull; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends, and also a special family friend, Signe Engman. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, September 5, 2014. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014 with visitation one hour prior at the Beuschel Funeral Home, with Celebrant Jon DeWys officiating. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice in memory of Esther.
