She was born December 8, 1935, in Ravenna, to the late John and Joyce (Elsworth) Thompson. On March 13, 1955, Ethelyn married the love of her life, Charles R. Anderson of Sparta, MI. They shared 51 wonderful years together before Charles passed away on September 29, 2006.

Ethelyn was also blessed by the loving relationship, companionship and care of Duane Bradford of Sparta for the past several years. The Anderson Family will forever be indebted to Duane for his love, kindness, and endurance, and the many sacrifices he made in caring for her. Ethelyn will always be remembered by her entire family and her many friends as being kind, thoughtful, and selfless; always ready to help anyone in need. She lived her life with a positive attitude and an open heart to all. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces was unconditional. She found great joy in being part of their lives, attending their sports, school and church activities and encouraging them to always love and support one another.
In her early years, she was very involved in 4-H, representing one of four generations of her family to participate in the program. She was also a talented dressmaker, an avid bowler and golfer, and a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she lived out her faith through service and kindness to others.
On behalf of Ethelyn, Duane, and her immediate family we would like to thank the entire staff at Crockery Creek Eldercare for their kindness and care for her over the past several years.
Ethelyn's life was a reflection of her faith, family and love for others, a legacy that will live on in all who knew her.
