COURTADE - Floyd C. Courtade, age 84, of Conklin, entered into eternal rest with his family at his side on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Doris Courtade; brothers, Arnold Courtade, Tom (Mona) Courtade and Emmett (Marge) Courtade; sister in-law, Maryanne (Tom) Miller. He is survived by his children, Keith Courtade, Ann Zandstra, Ken Courtade (Matt Norris), Angela (John) Poffinbarger and Dennis (Melissa) Courtade; grandchildren, Brian Courtade, Ashley (Rick) Mitchell, Jamie (Joe) Aikens, Thomas Zandstra, Craig (Hillarey) Poffinbarger, Jessica (Josh) Molyneux, Ariel Poffinbarger, Emily Courtade and Brayden Courtade; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Dan Courtade; sisters, Joyce (Dick) Middleton and Sr. Gladys Courtade SSND; sisters in-law, Norma Courtade, Irene (Art) Maycroft and Marilyn (Alex) Arends; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Floyd proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a skilled tradesman for General Motors for many years. After having a stroke at age 39, God gave him over 40 more years to bless his family with his gifts. Floyd spent much of his free time woodworking and made many beautiful pieces throughout the years. Floyd lived and died within a quarter of a mile of the family farm where he was born and raised. His farm had one bull which was more of a pet than livestock. Floyd loved to tell stories and would often regale his friends and family with tales of his days in the army and all of the people and places he knew throughout his hometown. His church and his faith were a very strong part of his everyday life. The family will receive family and friends at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, with Rev.
