BRECHTING, FRANK E. age 95, of Alpine Township, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Alice Brechting; son-in-law, David Hieshetter; brothers, William (Florence) Brechting and Raymond (Dorothy) Brechting; sisters, Louise (Andrew) Flowers, Bernadette (Herman) Rasch and Theresa (Mark) Thome; brother-in-laws, Lawrence (Theresa) Donnelly and Michael Donnelly. He is survived by his children, Joanne Hieshetter, Duane (Irene) Brechting, Joseph (Marnice) Brechting, Maureen (Bill) Towns, Barbara (Don) Downer and F. William Brechting; grandchildren 10; great-grandchildren 19; many nieces, nephews; sister-in-law, Dorothy Brechting and brother-in-law, William (Betty) Donnelly. Frank was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in 1940. After graduation Frank served his country in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Conflict. He married the love of his life, Alice Donnelly, in 1949 and started their life together on the farm. Frank was employed with the United States Post Office out of Comstock Park for 38 years. He was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Frank was also a member of the Knight of Columbus Council 3104. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family, leaving behind many precious memories. A special thanks to St. Ann's Home care givers and Spectrum Health - Butterworth Campus 4 South Staff for their compassionate care. The family will greet family and friends on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue NW, Comstock Park, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM with Deacon Jerry Roersma. The Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Frank's life will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Road, Comstock Park with Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding, and under the auspice of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow later in the month of May, in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
