IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Stephen
Bozek
August 29, 1950 – February 8, 2025
Gary Bozek, a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, and decorated Vietnam War veteran, entered into eternal rest at the age of 74. He is welcomed home by his parents, Daniel and Betty (Stuart) Bozek; his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia (Siegel) Bozek; his brother, Dan Bozek; his brother-in-law, John Twiss; his sister-in-law, Sandy Siegel; his brother-in-law, Greg Siegel; and a host of other family and friends who share in the truth of the resurrection.
Gary spent his childhood engaged in sports and learning the joys of hunting and fishing. He graduated from Kenowa Hills High School in 1968 and shortly after was drafted into the United States Army, completing his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, followed by leadership training in Oklahoma, ultimately becoming a sergeant stationed in Vietnam.
Gary served his country with unwavering honor during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication earned him two Purple Hearts, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. Gary exemplified strength and resilience, traits that defined his character throughout his life.
During his tour of duty, a love story unfolded with his special pen pal, Pat. Upon returning home due to a war-related injury, Gary had the courage to ask Pat out on their first date. They committed their lives to one another and married in 1972. Gary supported his family through dedicated work as a welder/fabricator in the fire protection industry for 25 years.
In retirement, Gary embraced the opportunity to relax and cherish quality time with his family at their cabin in Mio, Michigan. His legacy continues through his two sons, Chris (Amy) Bozek and Jason (Leslie) Bozek, along with his adored grandchildren: Madison, Zachary, Mia, and Jayla Bozek. He is also remembered by his sister, Sharon Twiss; brothers Tom (Lynne) Bozek and Mike (Sue) Bozek; brothers-in-law Tim Siegel, Jerry Siegel, Kevin (Judy) Siegel, and Dennis Siegel; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Gary's light shone brilliantly, especially when he wore his signature neon tank tops. He leaves behind a legacy rich in love, loyalty, and sacrifice, with memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
