LEAVELL - George Grant Leavell, age 74, of Comstock Park, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012. George is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Gregware) of 51 years, son and daughter in-law, Michael and Lori Leavell, sister and brother in-law, Nancy and Jack Fleming of Poulsbo, WA. He is also survived by sisters in-law, Sandy Gregware and Marianne Gregware, two nieces and three nephews, and many wonderful friends. Geo had battled and beat four different cancers, but the fifth cancer (Multiple Myeloma) couldn't be overcome. Geo was a gentle soul, and gentleman who enjoyed traveling, photography, the outdoors and good jazz and blues music. He and his wife have been to numerous islands and many countries in Europe. Geo was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, his brother in-law and one nephew. The family will receive visitors at the Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The celebration of George's life will be offered on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at the Beuschel Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Shick as celebrant from Spectrum Hospice. A procession to Alpine Center Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
