George Herbert Stickel Jr. (Butch), age 79 passed away suddenly on October 1, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Dorothy Stickel; daughters, Georgia Parmeter and Lorrie Derusha; and his 3 older sisters. George developed a passion for farming as a young boy. He was a third generation farmer and his entire life was spent chopping corn, baling hay and wrangling cattle.  George was a retiree from General Motors/Delphi.  He was very proud of his 30+ year career as a journeyman machine repairman.  George was as social as they come.  He enjoyed a cup of hot black coffee at the kitchen counter or a cold Busch light with anyone who wanted to chat.  George is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elaine (Sue) Stickel; children, Georjean (Pat) Morgan, Terry (Cindy) Stickel, Terry Parmeter, Skip Derusha and Dennis Allen; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 12:00 pm at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI. Friends and relatives may meet the family on Saturday, October 5, at Beuschel Funeral Home for a visitation from 10:00-12:00 pm. Interment Englishville Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Sparta Moose Lodge #50.  Those who wish may make memorial donations in George's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
