BEUSCHEL - Gladys G. Beuschel, age 93, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Sparta, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Verl Homer Beuschel; parents, Oscar and Sadie Ebel; her siblings, Lester Ebel, Robert Ebel, Hope Stroud, Richard Ebel, Arthur Ebel, Dorothy Lockery and Charlotte Keller. She is survived by her loving daughters, Dianne (Tom) DeRoseau of Grand Rapids and Cynthia (James) King of New Jersey; grandchildren, Mark DeRoseau, Jennifer (Jon) Grein and Amanda King; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Ebel; numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts, blankets and doll clothes. Verl and Gladys loved their family fruit and dairy farm, and operated their fruit market on the corner of Fruit Ridge and 12 Mile. She was very proud of their two daughters and her grandchildren. Gladys was a lifetime member and former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She taught 4-H sewing, cooking and gardening for many years. Verl and Gladys were active members of Farm Bureau for many years. A special thank you to Christian Rest Home for their years of loving care. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service following the visitation, with Pastor Dale Kleinheksel, officiating, from Maranatha Bible Church, at the funeral home.
