FABER - Gordy C. Faber, age 76, of Sparta, went to be in the arms of Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 8, 2020 with his family and friends at his side on the farm. Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Faber; and brothers, Jack (Esther) Faber, and Ted (Betty) Faber. Gordy is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathy Faber; daughters Laurie (Gordy) Pant, Mary (Ron) Antor, Kristi (Daren) Caine, and Sharon (Corey) Aune; grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Anderson, Kelly (Nicholas) Dykstra, Paul (Kaleigh) Pant, David (Anna) Pant, Kimberly (fiance Jonathon) Pant, Jason, Jacob, Abigail, and Samuel Pant, Ila and Adam Antor, Bryan, Justin, Olivia, Victoria and William Caine, Luke, Annah and Cy Aune; great-grandchidren, Eliza, Zeke, Elsie and Isaiah Anderson, Elliot, Amelia and Owen George Dykstra, and Nora Pant; sister, Kathy (Hardy) Ritsema; and brother, Bob (Deannie) Faber. Gordy retired from the Grand Rapids Fire Department. He enjoyed living the life of a farmer at "Rocky Road Farm" with his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and Roxy by his side. Gordy was very instrumental in mentoring the youth of the Sparta Livestock Club. He enjoyed helping with the 4-H sale at the Kent County Youth Fair, working behind the scenes of Sparta Town & Country Days, organizing the Community Pig Roast, and serving at his church. He also enjoyed working in the kitchen, and was well known for his amazing food, including kapusta. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave., Comstock Park, on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Service will be offered Monday, October 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 660 S. State Street, Sparta, officiating Rev. C.J. den Dulk.
