Howard Jay Roobol, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Howard was born on September 6, 1938 in Wyoming, MI to Henry and Gertrude Roobol. He graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School and went on to get an Associate's Certificate from Davenport Institute. Howard met the love of his life and married Barbara Judith Krucki (Judy). He worked for many years as a bookkeeper and office manager. Over the years, he was very active as an assistant Boy Scout Leader, and various other children's activities. Upon retiring, Howard took up the hobby of woodworking, and with his wife Judy, displayed his craftsmanship at many local craft shows. He was an avid auto racing fan, who enjoyed going to Berlin Raceway to watch weekly shows, and had a real love watching the ultra fast super mods with his son and neighbors. With the advent of cable tv, he became a big Nascar fan. When no longer able to go to the track, he enjoyed combing the internet for the daily news. He was preceded in death by his wife, B. Judith Roobol; daughter, Melissa Thompson; parents, Henry and Gertrude Roobol; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Dorothy Roobol; brothers-in-law, Louis Hoogewind, James Krucki. Howard is survived by his son, Michael (Janice) Roobol; son-in-law, Michael Thompson; grandchildren, Rebecca (Alton) Parker, Jonathan (Tegan) Roobol, Laurie (Matthew) Coppedge; great grandchildren, Bennett Parker, Nolan Parker, Jensen Roobol, Tejay Roobol, Cooper Coppedge, Madelyn Coppedge; sister, Thelma Hoogewind; sisters-in-law, Susan Krucki, Penelope Padgett; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 11:00 am at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI. Friends and relatives may meet the family at the funeral home for a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
