KOPERSKI - Jacob Vincent Koperski was brought home to paradise on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the age of 26. He died at home unexpectedly with his family at his side. Those most blessed by his life were his parents, Vince and Colleen; siblings, Ben and Katie; and grandparents, Dick and Delores Koperski. Jake attended school since he was one and for 25 years enjoyed every day in the classroom. He would have graduated from the Young Adult Program in Otsego on June 9. Dedicated teachers and aides have guided his path and Jake loved the students and staff as much as they loved him. Jake loved Mass and believed in the promise of Easter. He prayed every night for family and friends. Jake touched countless lives: grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, St. Stan's parishioners, Project Hope volunteers, Special Friends group, Saturday bowlers, Yes I Can T-ball athletes, fellow campers, fishermen, and so many others. Whether knowing him for a moment or a lifetime, Jake was unforgettable. Jake was unrestrained joy. He was silly, creative, loving, affectionate, and nonjudgmental. Jake's belly laugh was contagious and almost as unforgettable as his singing. The family will receive family and friends at the Kubiak Cook Funeral Chapel, 4330 18th St., Dorr, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary offered at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at St. Stanislaus Church, 1871 136th Ave., Dorr, with Rev. Father Harold Potter officiating. A procession to St. Stanislaus Cemetery will follow. Jake's life was full and our lives were made full from knowing him. Let your memories of Jake bring you joy and share it with others. Memorial contributions can be made to Project Hope food pantry or St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
