BROWN- James A. "Jim" Brown, age 79, of Wright Township, entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on Sunday, July 19, 2020. He is preceded in death by his son, David; sisters Carlene Rau, Marlene "Peanut" (Fritz Sr.) Wahlfield and Shirley Momber; parents Charlie and Alvina Brown. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Geraldine "Gerrie" Brown; children, Donna (Steven) Denhof, Michael (Iris) Brown, Rev. Fr. Charlie Brown, John (Amy) Brown, James (Jennifer) Brown, Bill Brown, Debbie (Jerry) Booth and Kevin (Melissa) Brown; sister, Delora (Carl) Burns; brother-in-laws, Gerald Winowiecki and Ray Rau; grandchildren, Lauren and Katie Denhof, Hannah, Robyn, Jayda and Myles Brown, Ben and Jacob Brown, Sydney and Dominick Brown, Alaina and Coy Booth, Julian and Eli Brown. Jim was born into a loving, Catholic family. He loved growing fruit, farming, gardening, and also ran J.B. Construction. Jim was a dedicated member at St. Joseph Catholic Church as a lector, eucharistic minister, and choir member. He also assisted with the grocery booth at the church's festival for many years. Jim was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus, council 4404. He enjoyed bowling, eucher and cribbage. He loved traveling to Germany and going to see the Detroit Tigers play. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. Due to COVID-19, all services are private. The Mass of Christian Burial has taken place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Charles Brown as celebrant. Interment was held in St. Joseph Cemetery. In memory of James, please consider memorial contributions to St. Joseph Church or to Lori's Voice.
