Obituary

HARMON - James "Jim" David Harmon, age 76, of Sparta, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 26, 2018. Jim was married for 55 years to the love of his life, wife Betty (Zahm) Harmon, who passed last April after a lengthy illness; and are now joined together once again. He was able to pass peacefully at their home, that was deeply cherished by both Betty and himself. Jim is also preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Elizabeth Harmon; brother, Roy (Tony) Harmon; and sisters, Cecelia (Harmon) Hascher and Katherine (Keith) Kotowski. He is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shirley Harmon, Ben Zahm, Lucille Norton, Tom (Diane) Zahm and Jean (Dave) Woycik; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, relatives and friends. Jim was a generous, faithful man with a smile for everyone. He would always have a hot cup of coffee and an ashtray for every customer walking in the door. Jim had a great sense of humor, that attracted a lot of the Sparta patrons to hang out at his shop and shoot the breeze. When someone was ill and could no longer drive to his shop, he would travel to their home or hospital and give them a hair cut. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and the wildlife around their home. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M., with Msgr.
