JoAnn
Maiter
November 6, 1943 – June 4, 2026
JoAnn Maiter (LeBoeuf), passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the age of 82. Although her physical heart was weak, her spiritual heart perfectly placed her into the arms of her Savior. She was born November 6, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Arthur and Josephine (Tobolik) LeBoeuf. JoAnn dedicated many years of her life to raising her children, owning a meat market and deli, and also to the banking industry, working as a bank teller. Her dedication and warm smile left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
JoAnn was very active, receiving trophies for her bowling skills and her polka dancing talent. She also spent countless hours in her vegetable garden and generously shared her harvest through salsa, pumpkin bread, and produce to anyone close by.
JoAnn enjoyed volunteering with her spare time. To list just a glimpse of what she accomplished throughout her years, she served as president of women’s auxiliaries, worked administration for the Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce, and devoted many hours to serving veterans. JoAnn served in multiple churches, as a school tutor, in band boosters, and as an elder's helper. Even in her later years after moving into an assisted-living facility, she volunteered as a librarian, tutor, receptionist, and as an ambassador to help newbies know their way around and make them feel welcome.
Her earthly presence will be greatly missed by her children: Tim (Leslee) Maiter, Mike (John Savittieri) Maiter, and Debbie (Fred) Grep. JoAnn was also blessed to have 9 grandchildren: Ryan (Lauren) Maiter, Shaun (Kiley) Maiter, Steven (Jenna) Grep, Lauryn (Kyle) Eldridge, Kevin (Ayumi) Maiter, and Lev, Halen, Bryn and Mina Savittieri; as well as 8 great-grandchildren, Colton Grep, Hudson Maiter, Kyson Maiter, Ava Maiter, Weston Grep, Caroline Eldridge, Emmett Maiter, and Melanie Grep; and brother, Bill (Marilyn) LeBoeuf.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Robert "Bob" Maiter; and siblings, Claudette (Dudley) French, Arthur (Ann) LeBoeuf, and Nancy LeBoeuf.
Per JoAnn's request, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sunset Manor And Villages in Jenison, Michigan.
JoAnn's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sunset Manor who have cared for her these past 4 years and to Corewell Health Hospice for their compassion and help throughout this difficult time.
