Mr. John Joseph Burdick, age 63, of Comstock Park, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born in Grand Rapids on February 28, 1958 to Daniel Joseph and Meredith Evelyn (Bessey) Guelzo. John was a man who loved many things, his daughters Danielle and Brittany, his Grandchildren, his extended family & friends, and he was also known for having a love for cats (especially his beloved Milo). An avid outdoorsman, John could be found on any given day in his natural habitat- on the water. Whether water skiing on the lake right outside his backyard, relaxing on the boat with his loved ones, or even enjoying a game of golf on the course, John knew how to enjoy the time God gave him. John had a generous heart for those who he loved while embracing his personality and bringing laughter into every room he walked into. A state champion wrestler from Comstock Park High School, John took his gift for strength and bravery in the Army and made the All-Army Wrestling Team. After serving honorably, he transitioned from a soldier to a bulldog earning himself two bachelor degrees in software engineering and accounting from Ferris State University. After a long and fruitful career, he retired last year to pursue his dream of restoring his family home in hopes of making future memories with his family & friends. John was truly in a weight class all his own and will be cherished, loved, and missed by all those left on the mat. He will be forever missed. John is survived by his children, Danielle (Matthew) Norris, Brittany Burdick, Ashley Bodell; three grandchildren, Owen Norris, Reagan Norris, Lenox Dixon; two brothers, Mark Burdick, Karl (Katia) Burdick; one sister, Chris (Thom) Becker. John is also survived by his mother Meredith (Bedford Brewer) Guelzo. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Joseph Burdick. The visitation for John will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Ave. NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321.
