John Paul Goetcheus Jr., age 85, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2026. He was born October 31, 1940, in Detroit, MI, to the late John Paul and Carolyn (Beard) Goetcheus Sr.

He graduated from Grosse Pointe High School with the class of 1959 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Business degree from Ferris State College. Paul proudly served in the Michigan National Guard. He worked as a salesman for over 30 years with Milwaukee Electric Tool until his retirement in 2000. Paul had a great love and passion for boating. If he wasn’t out on the water on his boat you could find him on the dock, socializing with a beer or mixed drink in his hand and looking at his boat.

Survivors include his two sons, Don and Eric Goetcheus; grandchildren, Grant, Max, Emma, and Megan Goetcheus; and sister, Karla (James) Kupec.

Per Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held at a sunnier time, and details will be announced as soon as they become available.
