MURR - John K. Murr, age 72, of Sparta, child of God, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, his Savior, the one he longed to see on Monday, October 5, 2020. John is survived by his loving wife of almost 48 years, Nancy; children, Christine (Mike) Cole, Joel Murr, and Peter (Kristin) Murr; grandchildren, Grace and John Cole, Tiffany, Rachel, Pearl, and Sam Murr; and mother, Joyce Barker. A minister of the gospel for 49 years, he enjoyed his "retirement" working security at Kellogg's keeping the elves in line. He will be remembered most for his love for his family and friends but most importantly for his love for his Lord and Savior whom he faithfully loved, followed and served. The family will receive friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020. John Keith Murr was born on September 25, 1948 in Bell, California to loving parents John and Joyce Murr. He had many happy memories of fishing and going to the movies on Saturday. He graduated from Bob Jones University and was ordained on June 6, 1971. Shortly after he met and married the love of his life Nancy who was his partner in ministry for 49 years. He served faithfully as a missionary and minister, moving 38 times. John & Nancy had 3 children all born while serving overseas. John loved spending time with his grandchildren and reading his Bible from cover to cover which he faithfully completed at least twice a year. He enjoyed spending spending his "retirement" working with his friends at Kellogg's. He will be remembered most for his love for his Lord & Savior whom he faithfully loved, followed and served.
