Obituary

Katherine Elizabeth (Crisman) McKellar, age 91, of Comstock Park, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at home. She was born July 13, 1934, in Shelby, MI, to the late Bernard and Zelma (Keck) Crisman. Kathy married the love of her life, David Allen McKellar on July 21, 1951, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Kathy was a woman of grace. She raised 8 children, was a pillar of faith, a prayer warrior and very wise, all while being a kindhearted and soft spoken woman. She enjoyed taking trips to Northern Michigan, fishing, and was proud of the turkey she shot at age 67. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with all of them.

Survivors include her husband of almost 75 years, David; 7 children, Karen (Bob) Cook, Debra (Mark) Chapman, Kenneth (Donna) McKellar, Kath (Darin) McKay, Don (Kim) McKellar, Kim McKellar, and Doug McKellar; daughter-in-law, Toni McKellar; sister, Alice (Larry) Snyder; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; son, David McKellar Jr.; grandsons, Adam McKellar and Josh VanKoevering; great-granddaughter, Kayla Chapman; and many siblings and in-laws.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am and the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Dan VanBelzen officiating. Kathy will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Harvest Bible Church in Conklin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Faith Hospice, especially nurse Ryan, for their compassion and care which helped allow Kathy to stay in her home for her final days.
