BOUWENS - Lawrence Bouwens, age 74, of Comstock Park, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Helen Bouwens; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Dorothy Esther. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kay; daughter, Sharon (Todd) Colon, and sons, Joe (Alison) Bouwens and Dave (Kim) Bouwens; brothers, Jim (Marcia) Bouwens, Bob (Pam) Bouwens and Tom (Muriel) Bouwens; brother-in-law, Bob (Linda) Esther and sister-in-law, Kathy (Ron) VanDyke; grandchildren, Alex Colon, Josh Colon, JoBeth Bouwens, Ed Bouwens, Courtney Bouwens and Brianna Bouwens; several nieces and nephews. Larry retired as a tool and die maker of 40 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 47. The family will greet family and friends for a memorial gathering, at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Comstock Park Education Foundation in memory of Larry.
