TAWNEY - Lee L. Tawney (papa), age 75, of Kent City, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Lee was born in Lakeview, Michigan on May 3, 1939 the son of Robert E. and Thelma Tawney. On January 25, 1964 he married the love of his life, Jessie M. Tawney (Atwood). His hobbies included hunting, camping, wood working, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Susan K. Wilcox and sister, Norma. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jessie; daughter, Linda (James) Meszaros; son in-law, Kenneth Wilcox; grandchildren, Tara (Jim) Sutter, Brian (Julee) Wilcox, Betsy (Jeremy) Merkins, Keith Wilcox, Angela Meszaros, Kenneth (Jennifer) Wilcox II, Jessica Wilcox, Aaron L. Meszaros; 20 great grandchildren; three brothers, two sisters and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service Celebration of Lee's life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at the Beuschel Funeral Home, with under the Auspice of Kent County Honor Guard.
