VAN HOLSTYN - Leona Ruth Van Holstyn, age 81, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her heavenly father surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Van Holstyn in 2001 and her son, Rick Van Holstyn in 2013; brother, Bud Vogel; sister, Phyllis Mitchell and many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her children, David (Joanne) Van Holstyn, Linda (Richard) Dare, Kenneth (Sherry) Van Holstyn and Steve Van Holstyn; grandchildren, Mark (Liz) Van Holstyn, Beth (Tommy) Declercq, Rooke Dare, Tanith Dare and Ashley Van Holstyn; great grandchildren, Evelyn, Will, Max, Jameson, Olivia and Suzette; sister, Pearl Hannink and sister-in-law, Joyce Vogel; many nieces and nephews. Leona and Tom enjoyed camping, and in later years, spending winters in Alabama. She also enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles, and working in her yard. The family will receive family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 9:30 - 11:00 A.M., with the celebration of Leona's life following at 11:00 A.M., at the funeral home,with Pastor Dan Thompson of Crossroads Bible Church.
