SODERQUIST - LeRoy I. Soderquist, age 73, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marie Soderquist. LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judy; beloved children, Teri (Verlin) Stapleton, Steve Soderquist, David Soderquist, Chris (Mike Merryman) Soderquist; precious grandchildren, Emma Stapleton and Lucas Merryman; sister, Deborah (Rob) Terpstra; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He graduated from Ferris State University in 1963. LeRoy was a chemistry and physics teacher for 30 years, at Mancelona High School. He also was a class sponsor, coach and mentor. LeRoy loved baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. He was a avid collector of stamps, coins, baseball cards and memorabilia. Most of all, LeRoy loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Visitation will be held at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m., with Deacon Jerry Roersma. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at Holy Trinity Church, 1304 Alpine Church Road, Comstock Park with Rev.
