Obituary

Lillian DeZwaan, age 88, of Bradley, IL, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, and Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away Sunday, January 23 at her home. Lillian was born April 14, 1922 to W. Wesley and Nellie Moll Carroll. Lillian went to be with her Lord with her seven children at her bedside. She leaves a legacy of faith and courage. The example of her personal faith and her encouragement through scripture and prayer were a blessing to all who knew her. She made the world beautiful with her hugs and smiles, her wonderful humor, her gentle spirit, her love of gardening and baking, and her enjoyment of antiques and decorating. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother. She was a long time member of Alaska Baptist Church, Alaska, Michigan, and then subsequently attended Grace Bible Church, Mount Laurel, NJ where she also served as Administrative Assistant to Pastor Robert M. Spicer, for 30 years. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James DeZwaan Jr., sisters Dorothy Bast and Barbara Berger. She is survived by her brother Wesley (Betty) Carroll, Jr; sons James (Connie) DeZwaan, Thomas (Pamela) DeZwaan, and Todd (Irene) DeZwaan; daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Greenlee, Janice (Ronald) Kish, Lorri (Doug) Parry and Bonnie (Marc) Kline; grandchildren Jennifer (Brian) Donoghue, Tracey (Ernesto) DeZubria, Jill (Christopher) Koning, Greg (Jill) DeZwaan, Carrie (Kizombo) Kalumbula, Benjamin (Lanetta) Greenlee, Jessica (John David) Taylor, Melanie (Cory) Tatom, Joseph (Carrie) DeZwaan, Jonathan (Tiffany) DeZwaan, Wade Greenlee, Catrina (Grant) Reed, Kelly (Drew) Kidd, Bradley (Jamie) Parry, Jackie Kline, Melissa (Tyler) Short, Alyssa Kline, Caitlin and Haley DeZwaan, and 24 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Beuschel Funeral Home 5018 Alpine Ave., Comstock Park, Thursday January 27, 5 to 8 p.m. . Committal and interment will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 822 South Church Street, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054 on February 12, 2011 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to Hospice of Kankakee County, Youth With A Mission, Idaho (missionaries Joseph and Carrie DeZwaan), or Grace Bible Church, Mount Laurel, NJ.
