DOUGAN-Mrs. Linda Jean Dougan, age 75, of Sparta, passed away Wednesday December 22, 2021. She was born March 30, 1946 in Fremont, Michigan to Frank and Jessie (Lovell) Thompson. Linda married James R. Dougan in White Cloud, MI on July 10, 2014. She received her B.A. in Education from the University of Michigan-Flint and later went on to receive her master's degree. Linda devoted her life to being a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, and teacher. Linda taught on the Navajo Reservation in Chinle, AZ and later retired from the White Cloud Public Schools in 2009. Linda loved to read and shared her love of books, language and writing with all the lives she touched. Linda is survived by her husband James R. Dougan; daughter, Heather Moore and her son, Justin Johnson, stepdaughters; Kelly Jo (Jeff) Gladson and Kristi Lynn Dougan; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews; sisters Patsy (Richard) Long and Vicky McLean. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sue (Meredy) Totten; brother-in-law, Richard Goosman. In keeping with Linda's wishes, a private graveside service will be planned for Spring 2022.
